Thomaz has been a life drawing instructor and concept artist since 2006. After moving from Brazil to Canada, he has pursued a career in animation and concept design, and has worked for animation studios such as Icon Creative, Titmouse, and Atomic Cartoons. Thomaz has also been the recipient of numerous awards, illustrated two novels, and enjoys taking on freelance projects.

His style combines a mixture of realism with inventive gesture and elements of caricature. He enjoys creating a balance between accurate anatomy with artistic expression, resulting in convincing and inventive figure drawings that tell a story.

His students progress quickly with a focus on the fundamentals, valuable hands-on exercises and demos. Thomaz enjoys using humour and rhyme to help his students to remember the lesson, while creating a fun and engaging environment for building their skills as figure artists.
