Renée Duval has maintained an artistic practice for over 30 years and has over 25 years experience teaching painting and drawing. Renée graduated with honours from Emily Carr College of Art and Design in Vancouver and received her M.F.A. from Concordia University in Montreal.

She has exhibited throughout Canada as well as in the U.S. and France, has a number of works in both public and corporate collections and has received numerous grants.

Renee’s paintings reflect her profound interest in art history, representation and the language of painting. Her work has long been concerned with perceptions of the natural world.

As an instructor, Renee is attentive, inclusive and open to all approaches to
painting and drawing. Her teaching focuses on giving students problem solving strategies to help them develop their own unique artistic voice.
