Amy is an artist and educator, with a background in graphic design and fine arts. A dedicated and passionate self-learner, she is largely a self taught painter, learning through study of the old and new masters, as well as academic research into art history.
Amy’s figurative artworks bring together traditional and contemporary approaches, striving to express something deeper in the human experience than can be observed by the trained eye. Her drawings, paintings and collages are founded on engagements with the emotive ‘internal landscapes’ of personal experience, often using discreet anatomical studies with experimental abstract approaches.
Amy’s artwork has been exhibited in private and public art galleries, featured in CBC and multiple magazine publications, and is part of numerous national and international art collections.
Amy’s encouraging nature, structured approach, and openness to creative surprises, helps her students discover new pathways for themselves, leaving them inspired in their artistic growth!
